In this article I show you how to modify your gas fireplace to work with personal assistants like Google, Alexa, Siri, etc. In order to do this, you will need a small WIFI controller board.

The cost for this modification is $5-$20 depending on where you purchase your controller board. In my case I purchased a SONOFF WIFI Controller board for about $10 from China.

Here is the SONOFF Controller Board installed in the fireplace. I powered my board using a micro-USB 5v power supply:

When you install the Controller Board it needs to be installed on the TP/TH and TH connectors of the fireplace controller:

SONOFF App:

SONOFF devices work with the eWeLink App.

You can download this app from Google Play (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS devices). Look for the eWeLink icon:

Once you install the app and add and account and add the device, you can simply link the eWeLink app to your digital assistant (e.g. Google Home) and control your device from your assistant.
