In this article I describe an issue resulting from upgrading to Joomla 4 whereby you can no upload your video files in mp4 format.
In my case I was migrating some of my "How To" videos from my Joomla 3 site and for some reason I could not get them to load into the media manager. Firstly, you have to make sure that you update your PHP settings to allow for large file uploads. I cover this in How To? - Joomla 4 Upgrade - PHP Issues & Large File Uploads.
This video shows you how to get around the issue with the codec for mp4 files once you have fixed your PHP issues (i.e. permit uploading of large files). I show you how to convert the video file to an acceptable format for Joomla 4 (i.e. an H265+mp3 mp4 file)
Important: When trying to update files to Joomla - there is a "feature" whereby if you attempted to upload a file and it failed, the system will not allow you to upload the file by the same name. You can either change the filename or clear the cache...
