In this article, I explain how to recovery a "bricked" Forigate 4th Gen firewall/router (In my case a Fortigate 60D) that has bricked itself after a power failure. The Fortigate firewalls/routers are excellent devices but can be very temperamental, especially after a power failure.
For this repair, you will need:
- a proper serial cable RJ45 to RS232
- a laptop/desktop with a serial port
- a serial communications application (e.g. PuTTY)
