My personal opinion is that "it depends"... I use both Unix and Windows machines depending on what I need. For conventional work, I still use Windows machines, but..
If you want a lightweight system - kodi install (e.g. a CoreElec build), mobility and you are going to use third party hardware (e.g. a business office at a hotel, etc), then a bootable USB lightweight Unix (e.g. Linux, etc) is good to have handy and therefore you just use the hardware with assurance that there are no security concerns)... This topic could go on for a while...
