In the match against the Old Boys team from Canada, we were well trained and it was a general for us before the new podium of the Poderadský Cup.
Against the Canadian 50s it was played "without the body", which made us a little trouble. We won the first goal after 13 seconds, when the rival Jirka Šulc did not react at all and the Canadian was not mistaken in the corner. Gert Beck, who pulled the puck from the blue to the pole, took care of the settlement. Then we gradually increased to 5: 1. But in the first break, the Canadians dropped after Malda set off behind the gate, leaving a free space in front of the goal, which the opponent instantly took advantage of. In the second part, the Canadian left the left wing and shot the ice surprised the goalie Cuba and it was 5: 3 . Then, with two goals, we rebounded to 7: 3 after another third. In the final part we increased to 9: 3, but the last word had the Canadians, who at the last minute after repeated shot corrected the result to 9: 4.
I think the match has completely fulfilled its purpose. We played well and our opponent was in the team of 48-60 years old and played very well. We skated well and we shot a lot, which is good, although in the second third we made a goal from their goalie, because he really got a lot. Moreover, a couple of wives of Canadian players have always been able to applaud after a successful intervention of the goaltender, so it has made him self-confident. I think we have not played badly at all and now it is only necessary to transfer the performance to the first match of the Podebrady Cup, which we will play on Saturday 13 October from 19:00 against the Brkounum.
